Subtitle
During the last decades, most Danish orthopaedic centres have implemented fast-track protocols in total hip and knee arthroplasty. The paper by Petersen et al. describes temporal trends in length of stay and risk of readmissions. The authors describe a dramatic reduction in length of stay from a median of three days in 210 to a median of only one day in 2017 without any increase in the readmissions.
