Many patients with dementia are frail and have difficulties with consulting their own general practitioners (GP). New quality assurance study of 3,098 elderly patients, including 214 with dementia, reports that more than 60% of the patients with dementia have not received the recommended preventive home visit with substantial variation between the participating general practices. The authors conclude that there is a substantial room for improvement in order to comply with the national recommendations.
