Agneta H. Snoer, Christel Høst, Mikala Dømgaard & Jakob Møller Hansen
Migraine affects 16% of the population and is a leading cause of disability. In the November issue of Danish Medical Journal, Snoer et al present the results of an online survey, where 306 Danish patients with ≥ 4 migraine days per month answered questions describing their disease and its impact on the quality of life. The authors report that most patients experienced treatment failures despite taking preventive treatment. Almost all patients reported negative impact of migraine on either private, social or professional life and app 64% reported a negative impact in all three domains. They conclude that continuous research is needed in order to improve treatment possibilities in this group.
